Regina, Saskatchewan ![]() Even though Regina had a safe, healty underground aquifer, it decided to create a water resevoir at Buffalo Pound. Once you impede the flow of water, it does not have the capacity to self-cleanse. This water had plenty of algae and dead fish; then it traveled in pipes which passed through the oil industry and the local dump before it reached faucets in Regina. The sample shown above is from Lake Kannaskis, a man-made lake in Regina, Saskatchewan. The water was highly contaminated with city run-off and feces from the waterfowl swimming there. The waterfowl had an extemely low count of offspring that summer. |
